The Swift Hitch aligner gives you a second pair of eyes so you can quickly align your vehicle's hitch ball with your trailer's coupler. It eliminates trailer hookup headaches like getting in and out of your vehicle, relying on a spotter, and accidental collision. The camera wirelessly transmits video to the hand-held monitor, and both are battery powered - which means no complicated wiring is needed for installation. And the camera's place-and-point design lets you reposition it for each job.
Using the system is easy. Attach the camera to your tailgate - the magnetic base makes it simple to place the camera wherever you need it - and point it at your hitch ball. Hop in the driver's seat, and use the monitor to watch your progress as you back up your vehicle. No getting out of the truck to check, no deciphering the hand signals of your significant other, and no running out of patience. Once the hitch ball and coupler are aligned, all that's left to do is hookup and hit the road.
For gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers, attach the camera to the back of your cab for a helpful look into the bed of your truck as you back up to the trailer.
Not only can the Swift Hitch be used when hitching up, but it is also great for hooking up snowplow blades, for use as a backup camera, and for monitoring a variety of areas around your home, farm, or jobsite.
Digital Transmission without Interference
This system uses digital technology to transmit images from the camera to the monitor. Unlike wireless devices that use analog technology, this camera system does not pick up interference from other devices that use Bluetooth or WiFi. This means that you'll have a crisp, clear image of your hitch every time.
The camera's 7-hour battery life gives you plenty of time to complete the job. The camera sends images to the monitor from up to 200' away and gives you a targeted, 55-degree viewing angle (horizontal and vertical).
Seven infrared lights surround the camera lens to provide up to 15' of night vision so you can get the job done in the dark. Night vision automatically activates in dim or dark conditions and turns off when lighting improves. When the camera is using night vision, images are displayed in black and white on the monitor.
The back of the camera has an antenna, an on/off button, an LED light, and a jack for the charging cable. The LED light changes color to signal when the camera is on (green), when it's charging while the power is on (yellow), and when it's charging while the power is off (red).
Place-and-Point Design
Setting up the camera is as fast as place and point. First, place the camera's strong magnetic base on a metal surface. The magnetic base lets you easily remove and reposition the camera depending on the job - unlike a backup camera that's permanently mounted at the rear of your vehicle. Plus, the base has a smooth, non-scratch nylon backing.
Next, point the camera at your hitch ball or target. A stem with a rotating ball joint sits between the camera and the magnetic base. The stem smoothly rotates 360 degrees, allowing the camera to be pointed in any direction and hold its position.
A suction cup mount is also included. This triangular metal plate with 3 suction cups lets you mount the camera to a non-magnetic surface. Simply stick the suction cup mount onto the mounting surface and then place the camera's magnetic base on the plate.
For some applications, such as monitoring horses inside an enclosed trailer, the camera can be mounted semi-permanently. Pre-drilled holes in the magnetic base let you mount the camera using two 1/8" screws or bolts with wing nuts (not included).
Water-Resistant Construction
The Swift Hitch camera was constructed with water resistance in mind so that you can hitch up in any weather. A sealed plastic barrier on the front covers the infrared lights to shield them from water, and an attached cap on the back covers the charging port. The camera's housing hangs over the lens like an awning to protect it from the rain. Plus, the body, stem, and base are made of durable, rustproof aluminum, and the exterior has a UV-resistant coat of bright yellow paint.
A clear plastic cap is included to protect the camera's rear end from rain or other inclement weather, particularly when the lens is pointed at your hitch ball. The cap fits snugly onto the back of the camera. The on/off button can be pressed while the cap is on, but the cap will have to be removed when you want to plug in the charging cable.
The hand-held monitor features a 2-1/2", high-resolution LCD screen that displays crisp, clear full-color pictures (images appear in black and white while camera is operating in night vision). Video is displayed in mirror image by default to give you the same viewpoint as your rearview mirror, but this setting can be switched to non-mirror image if you prefer. The monitor has a battery life of up to 11 hours when fully charged. It is recommended that the monitor battery be fully charged before first use.
To turn the monitor on or off, hold down the button on the front for 3 - 5 seconds. To switch the display from mirror-image view to non-mirror-image view, press the button quickly. An LED indicator light changes color to signal when the monitor is on (green), when it's charging while the power is on (yellow), and when it's charging while the power is off (red). The light flashes when the unit is in the non-mirror-image setting so you know what perspective you've got on the display.
The included video-out cable plugs into the side of the monitor so that you can transfer images to a larger screen or a recording device.
The lightweight, durable plastic unit has a contoured shape so that it is easy to hold in one hand. For dash mounting, two 7/8" hook-and-loop strips (similar to Velcro) with adhesive backing are included. Or you can use the Swift Hitch windshield mount kit (sold separately) to keep the monitor easily within view.
This portable, completely wireless system is simple to set up and convenient to use. It does not need to be hardwired to your vehicle, nor does it rely on your vehicle's battery to work. Instead, it uses digital technology to transmit video from the camera to the monitor and it is powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. There's no permanent installation or drilling required, so the system can go anywhere you go - from the jobsite to the campsite, from your work truck to your SUV.
The included 12-volt DC cable lets you charge both units simultaneously. An AC-to-DC adapter (sold separately) can be used to charge the system from a 110-volt AC wall outlet.
Convenient Storage and Carrying Case
The Swift Hitch comes with its own zippered case so you can store the system when it's not in use. A foam insert helps to protect the system from damage. And a sturdy carrying handle lets you easily take this portable system with you from the jobsite to the campsite.
I liked the two camera feature.
Product was delivered in a timely manner and was of made of good quality.
It’s ok. A little glitchy from time to time and screen resolutions not great but usually does the job.
Just used on the last RV trip and the picture in monitor was very clear and the camera were easy to use and positioned, a great buy well worth it.
The Monitor will not Charge. I reported it to etrailer and was told to contact Swift Hitch which I did through their website. I've heard nothing back from them to date. I would appreciate if it can be replaced. Thanks so very much.
Just finished charging monitor and both camera work at short distances. Hope to try them out on my vehicles this weekend
The first unit I received was defective (screen was too dark to be useful) but was replaced without any problems by etrailer. Great and helpful customer service, impressive!
Reception range is better than stated. We have an extended cab F350, pulling a 3-horse, slant-load gooseneck. We did not need to use the coax cable for the rear camera, the signal / reception at the monitor in the cab was just fine from the camera's antenna. Connection times between the display and the cameras are reasonable. The display is a bit dim in daylight but viewing from the cab is ok. Battery life appears to be good. Initial setup was quite simple, really nothing had to be done except turn on the cammeras and the monitor, and everything linked up automatically. All in all, a good system.
These cameras are so convenient and easy to use. I love them. We use them for everything for watching our sleeping kid to backing support
This is the second one I have purchased the first one lasted for 10 plus years and finally died so after some research I decided that this is the best way to go none of the other portable systems are cost-effective for my application 1ton pickup with a permanent mounted camper pulling a 24ft camper trailer and or a boat has enough range to be able to see to hook up when I need to have all 3 units hooked together yes I often pull 2 trailers no problem
This product works just as advertised - hassle free and right out the box worked without a hitch! (Pun intended) First try I backed right up to the trailer hitch - no problem and no directions needed from someone to get it right.
It does a phenomenal job even when it's dark thirty. The only thing I would add to this is a sun shield over top half of the monitor.
Works well, seems to be very solidly built.
What's nice is that you can place it on the SUV tailgate, looking down....makes hitch alignment a breeze...!!
(The "license-plate" type back up cams are too low, don't give a good view)
Nothing to set-up or calibrate, one charger for camera and monitor, ready to go...!
It even fits my cell-phone holder, see pics....!
My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to include a wall charger, household 120 v.
I often have to hitch my 30 foot gooseneck trailer alone and the Swift Hitch is an awesome tool. It's quick and easy to do a once aggravating chore.
Looks like this was a used product that someone returned. It didn’t come with all the mounting hardware for the handheld. But it seems to work fine so we will see.
The signal from the camera drops off when the receiver is more than 3-5 feet from the camera. Will be returning it.

I reached out to the manufacturer about the signal drop that you are experiencing. It is recommended to check to make sure that the antenna connection is not loose and that the battery is not running low. Metal objects can block the signal. This can range from aluminum, steel, and other electrically conductive metals as well as metal doors, blinds, buildings, furniture, and walls. Having clear sight between the camera and the monitor is strongly recommended. If you have such an obstacle between the camera and the monitor, you can try to remove those signal-blocking parties out, and then you will get further transmission distance.
